Vineyard and Winery![]() Established in 2000, with state of the art production facilities, Harris River Estate is a single vineyard producer. We grow six grape varieties; Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Viognier, Verdelho and Cabernet Savignon. We are also acknowledged for our classic range of wine and also for our exciting range of sweet and funky wines.
We are situated 5km north of Collie, Western Australia, on the edge of the eastern border of the Georgraphe Wine Region. The property is 52Ha and we have 24Ha under vine. All wine is grown, made and bottled on the estate. Our soils are free draining ironstone gravel, this combined with our cool altitude enables us to produce premium wines with finesse and flavour. We produce approx. 150 tonnes of fruit per year and our low crop levels of 6-7 tonnes per Ha and controlled irrigation gives us intensity of fruit flavours and color. We protect this natural bounty by harvesting at night and into the early morning when fruit is cool, and with only 10 minutes from vine to crusher we are able to control fruit conditions into the tanks.
Our Vineyard Manager Ray Dennis looks after our vineyard with a passion, the excellent teamwork between Ray and our Senior Winemaker Jane Gilham (both have been with us at HRE for two years) has led us to win our first gold medals at the Qantas Wine Show in 2008 for our 2007 Verdelho & 2007 Chardonnay. We look forward to winning many more!
